The oscars 2018 was one of the most anticipated and talked about award shows of the year. With pre parties, the main event and after parties, there is always so much to discuss. Rather than red carpet reactions, we decided to pay attention to detail. Here are a few of our Oscars highlights:
Rolex made its third comeback as designer and host of the backstage green room at the Oscars 2018. The theme this year was a Swiss Alps chalet which included virtual windows with Matterhorn views alongside pictures of Oscars stars; an original idea to perfectly encapsulate the contrast between glitz and glamour and the peaceful picturesque vision of the mountains.
Bringing the Outside in
Cadillac’s Pre-Oscar Party saw an interior décor of sky-high plants and a checked floor made up of wood and grass, this inverse design of bringing nature inside was created by JJLA. Lanterns and table lights illuminated this small but sophisticated garden vibe.
Belvedere Vodka hosted an intimate brunch at Catch L.A to show support for the Fem the Future organisation. A lavish wall of floral greenery was used to backdrop photography and worked in conjunction with the theme of nature that many events surrounding the Oscars were portraying.
Nudes, Ivory and Coffee Tones
Cheryl Cecchetto of Sequoia Productions managed the decoration details at the Academy of Motion Pictures Arts and Sciences’ Governors Ball for the 29th year running. She chose to present “calm and welcoming” like “spa colours” including ivory, champagne and bronze tones. The less is more approach to décor seemed to work wonderfully in this example.
Live Cooking and Grazing Stations
This years host of the Oscars, Jimmy Kimmel threw his own private Oscars After-Party at The Lot in West Hollywood. He transformed the venue into a festival with live cooking stations and this years very on-trend grazing stations together with sexy cocktails for guests, alongside live performances from well known artists including Snoop Dogg and Rita Ora.
