A Destination Bar Mitzvah

A destination Bar Mitzvah in Israel.
Planning a destination event is almost as much fun as the event itself.
A party in the heart of magical Old Jaffa, Israel, culminated a weekend of celebration that began with welcoming guests to the City of Jerusalem with parasols to guard against the heat of the sun, personalised little welcome gifts sourced from the local markets, water tunnel adventures, prayers in an art deco ancient synagogue with Murano glass chandeliers, out door dining, miniature seasonal pomegranate trees for decor, and ‘find your face’ photographic place settings all stemmed from a brief for WhitePaper Event to create a fun-filled, Bar Mitzvah capturing the essence of true Israeli style for family and close friends.

The chosen venue, Beit Andromeda, situated within old narrow streets and cobbled court yards of an ancient port, yet overlooking a modern coastline, a combination of the old with the new was the perfect outdoor and indoor space. The open rooftop became the ‘Reception’ complete with a typical Israeli market fruit juicing bar, cocktail bar and a panoramic view over the mediterranean.

The outdoor dining room became a garden, complete with ‘street food’ style food stations full of Israeli delicacies. Antique sofas and bistro seating led to casual style dining with branded linen napkins matching the colours of the beautiful hand drawn logo sitting on designed ‘word art’ kraft place mats, . Rosemary plant pots on the table centres wrapped in stamped paper with family photos on sticks added a wonderful scent.

With the event split over two floors , this allowed WhitePaper Event to create a space that guests could explore, with lots of little details to ensure that the event felt personal. All staff were styled with brands T’s, the sofa cushions were embroidered, personalised masks, and a huge photo montage created on cloth for the tradition of throwing the bar mitzvah boy up in the air.
