What inspired your career journey?
Artist Ian Murphy taught me how to oil paint at my school from the age of 11, he inspired me from the very beginning as well as my Dad. The work of Georgia O’keeffe inspired me at an early age too. I am inspired by all aspects of nature, but flowers are a prevailing trend throughout my work. I am fascinated by colour and pattern in natural forms. It was during my time at Saint Martins that I discovered the endless possibilities to transform my art into fabric. Training with Christian Lacroix in Paris inspired the early stages of my career dramatically. I love Lacroix!
What are your trend predictions for 2016?
In terms of colour I think tones of orange/rusty yellows and teal/turquoise tones. Style wise I heard that the 70’s is back which is great news for my small neck scarves!
Do you live by any motto or philosophy?
Be Happy! ‚ÄėHave good thoughts they will shine out your face like sunbeams and you will always look lovely‚Äô Roald Dahl I think this quote is very true.
