What inspired your career journey?
My parents. Dad died in 2010 and I started the company 8 months later. Mum and Dad both from the Philippines migrated to the UK 35 years ago and have worked harder than anyone I know. To be raised with my sister in the United Kingdom is a dream for any Filipino and my parents have made that happen. So my parents are what drive me to succeed and inspire me. I owe it to them.
What are your trend predictions for 2016?
Hard question, but keeping relative to what my company does, I believe more up and coming, cooler, more engaging roving bands at weddings & corporate events will be a trendsetter in 2016. Eight Ray are at the forefront of this with our amazing exclusive roaming act The Roaming Revue.
Do you live by any motto or philosophy?
Go hard or go home, work hard play hard, no pain no gain. Cliché sayings but I have been brought up to work hard to make a living. Whatever I do I will always put the work in and focus on something to make it happen. I also believe in specialising in one thing and master that before moving on. In my case it is music, we specialise in music no other entertainment – no stilt walkers, no fire breathers, no magicians. We live and breathe live music entertainment and our acts are at the highest quality.
What would your best piece of advice be for someone beginning his or her planning journey?
My advice would be to book your music early and don't leave it to the last minute. Music can make or break your event and great acts are booked way in advance. So book your music early and work with Eight Ray Music who can recommend the best in live music entertainment.
What's your favourite season, why?
Summer is my vibe. I was born in August and love the heat. I can’t handle the cold I am Filipino.
P.S and just for reference, what's your favourite word in the English language?
Pneumonoultramicroscopicsilicovolcanoconiosis – only said this because I stupidly somehow know the longest word in the English dictionary. Thought it might look impressive.
