London Fashion Week influences events
London Fashion Week kicks off today (18th September) at a brand new venue ‚Äď Brewer Street car park in Soho ‚Äď and while you may not be in the frow (front row of the catwalk shows) you can still be in the know. London Fashion Week have set up an open air cinema in Carnaby Street with live feeds from all the catwalk shows. The live feed will also be available on line (where you‚Äôre guaranteed to be frow!) or you can catch up on BBC iplayer with exclusive behind the scenes access.
Some of the hottest tickets this season are for Burberry, Mary Katrantzou, House of Holland and Julian McDonald, who will be presenting his first menswear collection. Two of the shows that are set to be real showstoppers РJohn Galliano for MM6 Maison Margiela and Versus, Versace’s sister brand Рare both making their London Fashion Week debuts so look out for them.
There are more than 70 shows scheduled over the five days of London Fashion Week, showcasing the hottest fashions and influences for Spring/Summer 2016. But these creations will not only be seen ‚Äėon‚Äô guests at functions and events over the coming year, they will also help shape the events themselves. Each season the catwalk shows inspire event themes and trends for everything from colourways, invitations, room d√©cor, lighting and table decorations.
So, over the next few days, we’ll start to see what will shape next year’s events. This Autumn/Winter we’ve been seeing lots of metallics, highlighter brights, embroidery, and even animal prints transfer from the catwalk to the venues but what’s coming next? Catch up with us at The Source next week to see what triumphed at the London Fashion Week shows and which of the latest catwalk creations may very well be the key to your next event.
