Over recent years, humble escort cards – once a very simple hand written guide to where you were to be seated at an event – has grown in stature, elevated to the same design and intricate thought specifications as other elements of the evening. It is now as exciting to see just how these escort cards are designed and blended with a theme as it is thinking about what after dinner munchies might be awaiting your pallet at the end of dinner!
I have taken ten, summery feeling escort card designs which I think offer a combination of “DIY ability” and simple effective “WOW” and shared them here with you. Personally, and loving the design aspects of an event planning journey – it’s great when I get to think about how to incorporate this smaller aspect of the event such as escort cards in to a clients brief – setting a tone for the bigger reveal a little later on.
Whilst there is no limit to the props than can be used when putting escort cards ideas together, a couple of the examples below really caught my eye. I love the simplicity of the flower in the glass option, as I do the chance to play on a particular comic or film fanaticism you might have when linking all your guests to Lego superheros. My favourites are probably the Ferris Wheel (genius!) and the great idea that the cards can then be used later on – for messages from guests, which can then be used as an art piece that bride and groom can keep as a memento of the evening.
