Artist and print designer Leanne Claxton grew up in Lancashire, moving to London in 2002 to complete a BA degree in textile design at Central Saint Martins. In 2005, she trained in Paris under Christian Lacroix where she discovered haute couture and the relationship between art and fashion.
Since graduating, Leanne has held art exhibitions, worked both in-house and as a freelance artist/print designer for major brands in London, Paris, New York, Hong Kong and Spain. In 2010, she collaborated with fashion designer Johanna Ho to launch her first capsule clothing collection, HO:Claxton. Johanna describes Leanne’s paintings as “full of magic and mystery that is simply breathtaking”.
Leanne began printing her abstract floral designs onto silk scarves in 2011 as a way of making her artwork more accessible.
Each scarf starts life as a detailed graphite sketch, which is then interpreted into an oil painting. In 2012 she was named ‘Design Star of Tomorrow’ at the Perspective Magazine Awards in Hong Kong.
Leanne set up her art and print design studio in her native Lancashire at the start of 2015. She now has space and specialist in-house equipment to create beautiful bespoke artworks and scarves tailored to suit any kind of occasion.
Uniting bold, sweeping brush strokes of vibrant colours with delicate details Leanne's luxurious hand painted silk accessories are stylish, versatile and timeless making them a perfect gift.
